21 Days of Fasting & Prayer January 1-21
As a church family, we will begin 2026 with our annual rhythm of intentional prayer and fasting. We have found this to be a much-needed practice as many of us are desperate for breakthrough. This is something that the practice of fasting often brings forth. We are asking, “What is God waiting to pour out on our church, our city, or our lives if we would seek Him through prayer & fasting?”
Dear Evangel Family,
As we step into 2026, I believe the Lord is inviting us into a season of Expansion. This is more than a theme for prayer and fasting; it’s a prophetic direction for our church family. Expansion is not simply about doing more, but about making room for what God desires to do in and through us.
Over the past few years, we have prayed, planned, and prepared with our five-year strategic vision in mind. Now we stand at a significant moment where those prayers are becoming reality. In 2026, we will see the Lord expand Evangel in three key ways:
Raising Leaders: We are launching new leadership development initiatives that will equip and release men and women to step into their calling. Expansion means multiplying leaders who can serve faithfully in every area of ministry, both inside and outside the church walls.
Reaching the Next Generation: We are investing in the future by expanding and modernizing our youth spaces. These updates will create environments where teenagers can encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and invite their friends into a vibrant, Spirit-filled community.
Expanding Our Presence: We are stepping forward in faith to renovate and launch our Lawrenceville campus. This is not just a building project it’s a Kingdom expansion project that will allow us to reach more families, more neighborhoods, and more lives with the gospel.
All of this flows from our vision: So that Everyone Can Experience New Life in Jesus. Expansion is the natural next step in that vision. God is stretching us to enlarge our tent, lengthen our cords, and strengthen our stakes (Isaiah 54:2), so that many more will come to know Christ.
That’s why these 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting matter so deeply. We are not only asking God for provision and favor—we are asking Him to expand our hearts, our faith, and our capacity. Expansion begins inside of us before it can happen around us.
I want to invite you to join me in this season of prayer. Let’s believe together that 2026 will be a year of breakthrough, growth, and Kingdom advancement for Evangel. The best days are ahead, and the Lord is calling us to expand for His glory.
With faith and expectation,

Types of Fasts
Complete Fast: In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.
Partial Fast: This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.
Selective Fast: This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.
Soul Fast: This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring that element back into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.
