21 Days of Fasting & Prayer January 1-21
As a church family, we will begin 2025 with our annual rhythm of intentional prayer and fasting. We have found this to be a much-needed practice as many of us are desperate for breakthrough. This is something that the practice of fasting often brings forth. We are asking, “What is God waiting to pour out on our church, our city, or our lives if we would seek Him through prayer & fasting?”
Dear Evangel Family,
As we step into a new season of ministry, I want to invite you to join us in an extraordinary journey—a journey to fulfill the vision God has given us for the next five years. These are not merely dreams or hopes for the future they are God ordained steps that will help us reach our city and county for Jesus.
I’ve shared with you that sometimes what we want is “to attend a great church”, who wouldn’t want that for themselves and their families. I’m asking you to go a step further and say “I‘m all in to helping build a great church.” Our community needs the hope that we offer through the transforming work of Jesus!
This is a vision of a thriving church, where every person can encounter God’s presence and discover their purpose in Him. This vision is not just about numbers; it’s about creating a family that reflects the diverse beauty of our community.
But this vision cannot be realized without your commitment and partnership. I’m asking you to go “all in” with us. Here’s how you can join the mission:
Pray – Cover this vision in prayer, asking God to lead us, empower us, and provide for every need.
Serve – Use your unique gifts to serve and make a difference in our church and community. Take E101 get involved, don’t just attend church, be the church.
Give – Partner financially with Evangel to fuel this vision and invest in what matters most—changed lives.
Invite – Share what God is doing at Evangel with others and invite them to experience His presence with us.
Our five-year vision is bold, but we serve a God who does more than we can ask, think, or imagine. Together, as a church family, we will create a legacy of faith that impacts generations to come.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Let’s go all in, trusting God to do immeasurably more as we step forward in faith.
With gratitude and anticipation,

Types of Fasts
Complete Fast: In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.
Partial Fast: This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.
Selective Fast: This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.
Soul Fast: This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring that element back into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.
